Disease and Systems Biology (TDSB) function at Sanofi, part of
Global Research, includes both in-silico and experimental
scientists that are unified in their goal to accelerate science at
every stage of the drug discovery pipeline in oncology,
ophthalmology, immunology, inflammation, and neurodegenerative
diseases. The Data Science and Artificial Intelligence lab in the
Computational Biology cluster seeks a highly motivated data
scientist to join in our efforts to streamline and enhance the drug
discovery process. The successful candidate will have deep
expertise in machine learning and statistical analysis, as well as
the drive to assimilate new techniques and develop new
methodologies to strengthen our capabilities. Excellent

Responsibilities: Develop innovative ML/AI computational approaches
and adopt existing state-of-the-art ideas to streamline transition
to early development, as well as facilitate both the discovery of
novel targets and drug repositioning. Contribute to the on-going
programs with developed stack of tools/approaches and deliver
customized study-specific analysis. Therapeutic areas of interest:
immunology, inflammation, neurodegeneration, oncology Work closely
with computational scientists and biologists in a highly
collaborative environment. Lead in silico projects in collaboration
with scientific teams and champion projects at different stages of
discovery and clinical development. Contribute to publications,
research and clinical/regulatory documentation. About You Essential
Qualifications: PhD in bioinformatics, computer science,
computational biology, physics or another related quantitative
field with 1-3 years of experience preferred in an academic
environment or the private sector (biopharma preferably). Develop
and benchmark predictive algorithms to help generate actionable
hypotheses. Proficiency in analyzing and manipulating data with
Python/R. Ability to write clean, readable, and scalable code.
Preferred Qualifications: Strong interest in learning biology and
liaising with scientists from multiple therapeutic areas to help
define and address biological questions with computational
approaches. Understanding of basic biological concepts and ability
to communicate with non-computational audience. Experience with
knowledge graphs, graph machine learning, and other AI/ML
approaches Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and strong team player attitude.
Experience with MLOps (snowflake, huggingface, weight and biases)
