This position is located in Peabody, MA The Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is dedicated to creating, in partnership with others, innovative and genuine opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities to participate fully and meaningfully in, and contribute to, their communities as valued members. DDS would like to announce the availability of a full-time Residential Supervisor A/B position working in the Northeast Region for Northeast Residential Services. The Residential Supervisor A/B is responsible for a wide variety of functions and tasks in a staffed home with 5 individuals operated by the Department of Developmental Services Northeast Region. The Residential Supervisor A/B will maintain a clean, safe and healthy environment, insure the provision of appropriate individuals' services as indicated in Individual Service Plans, and have general responsibility for the overall day to day management of the home including supervision of all staff and individuals as assigned. The RS A/B will coordinate, implement, and supervise the administrative and clinical operations of the home, including residential program development. This position will implement and/or ensure compliance of policies, regulations, and procedures. The successful candidate will promote principles of normalization and dignity. They will provide for the welfare of individuals by making personnel recommendations for hiring and promoting staff. The RS A/B supervises and evaluates support staff and maintains adequate staffing patterns. The incumbent ensures a safe home by participating in and supervising the day to day interactions and activities of the individuals. They will provide staff training and assess individuals' needs, abilities, and resources to develop therapeutic programs in community living skills, participate in the interdisciplinary team, coordinate and participate in Individual Service Plan implementation. This position develops, implements, and maintains data collection and records. The RS A/B monitors and evaluates the physical operation and maintenance of the residence. The incumbent will monitor residential budgets, maintain individuals' funds; assist individuals with expenditures and money management. This position acts as a liaison to adjunct personnel, ensures effective communication between staff and performs related work as required. The slected candidate will provide for the welfare of individuals by making personnel recommendations for hiring and promoting staff. The RS A/B supervises and evaluates support staff and maintains adequate staffing patterns. The incumbent ensures a safe home by participating in and supervising the day to day interactions and activities of the individuals. She or he will provide staff training and assess individuals' needs, abilities, and resources to develop therapeutic programs in community living skills, participate in the interdisciplinary team, coordinate and participate in Individual Service Plan implementation. This position develops, implements, and maintains data collection and records. The RS A/B monitors and evaluates the physical operation and maintenance of the residence. Computer experience is required in the daily operations of home. A criminal background check (CORI) will be completed on the recommended candidate as required by the regulations set forth by the Executive Office of Health and Human Services prior to the candidate being hired. In addition, Chapter 234 of the Acts of 2014, An Act Requiring National Background Checks, requires the Department of Developmental Services to conduct fingerprint-based check of the state and national criminal history databases on the recommended candidate. ALL EMPLOYEES ARE PAID ON A BI-WEEKLY BASIS AND MUST HAVE DIRECT DEPOSIT. Listed Salary ranges are for 1 year at annual rates. SCHEDULE: Tuesday 9:00 AM-5:30 PM Wednesday 11:00 AM-7:30 PM Thursday 2:30 PM-11:00 PM Friday 12 PM-8:30 PM Saturday-7:00 AM -3:30 PM Days off ? Sunday/Monday This position is designated as an "EMERGENCY" Position in the Department of Developmental Service's Emergency Plan. This means that whenever the Governor declares that the Commonwealth is in a state of emergency, you will be required to report to work. First consideration will be given to those applicants that apply within the first 14 days. MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE: At least three years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional experience in counseling, guidance, teaching, or therapeutic services for individuals with developmental disabilities, of which at least one year must have been in a supervisory capacity. SUBSTITUTIONS: * A Bachelor's degree in social work, rehabilitation, psychology, sociology, human services, education of people with physical and/or learning disabilities may be substituted for two years of the required nonsupervisory experience on the basis of two years of education for one year of experience. * A Master's or higher degree social work, rehabilitation, psychology, sociology, human services or education of people with physical and/or learning disabilities may be substituted for an additional year of the required nonsupervisory experience on the basis of two years of education for one year of experience. * One year of education equals 30 semester hours. Education toward a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed. * No substitution will be permitted for the required supervisory experience.
