Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)At ConvenientMD we're on a mission to make good health more convenient for all - working to improve how patients and providers experience healthcare in New England. The LPN is provided with the education and skills of medication administration, patient education, and general clinical skills. The LPN will work in place of an MA, UCT or CCT when unavailable, and work in addition to the RNJob Responsibilities:Patient triage, to include but not limited to: vital signs; medical history; observational examination. LPN may interview, collect data and make observations to contribute to the plan of care. The LPN may not make an independent nursing diagnosis or initiate a plan of care.Assist with any and all patient exams, testing and procedures under the direction of the provider (i.e. I&Ds, pelvic exams, splinting, casting, etc.)Assist with the following testing & procedures:1. Vision testing2. Hearing/audiometry testing3. Urine drug screen testing4. Breath alcohol testing5. Lift testing6. Peak flow testing7. Pulmonary function testing (spirometry)8. Impact Testing9. Ear Irrigation10. Eye wash flushing11. Wound soaking & cleansing.12. Tuberculosis screening13. Point of care testing: Strep, FLU, RSV, SARs-CoV-2, Capillary Glucose, Mono, HCG, Urinalysis, FOBT/Guaiac, Lipid Panel (obtained via CardioChek Analyzer), Chemistry & CBCSterile technique in wound care management, dressing application, trauma patients, burn care and instrument cleaning and sterilizationSuture & staple removalBlood draw/phlebotomyInsert & monitor peripheral venous access if accredited/board approved IV therapy course has been completedAirway management through nebulizer treatment, oral suctioning, oxygen administration & ventilation with AMBU bag.Cardiac Management through application of 12 Lead ECG, CPR-Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, and defibrillation by AEDPrepare PD-Rx medications (ME & NH)Administration of immunizationsMedication administration as outlined by the CMD Licensed Practical Nurse scope of practiceAdministration of hot & cold packsAssist with patient call backs to include, but not limited to, answering of patient questions, reporting test results, medication/therapy changesAssist with calling in prescriptions to patient requested pharmacyReporting of Communicable DiseasesEnsures operation of clinical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; calling for repairs or reporting repair needs to clinic PM Assists in maintaining adequate clinical supplies inventory by checking & notating when stock levels are lowKeeps work area and exam rooms stocked, clean and orderlyMaintains accurate, complete records & reportsDocuments patient education and care in EMR and all other applicable areasInteract with patients in a positive and helpful manner, provide information and assistance as neededMaintains confidentiality with all patient information by upholding HIPAA laws and rulesComplies with all ConvenientMD policies, protocols & proceduresParticipates in the training of new team members.Other duties as required or assignedQualifications:Two years of experience preferred; urgent care or ED experience preferredLicensed LPNAHA BLS for Healthcare Providers Certification Preferred; American Red Cross BLS Certification AcceptedIV Therapy Certification preferredMust be able to work 12hr shifts and weekendsPhysical Requirements:Requires the ability to stand and sit for hours at a time. Some bending and stooping is required.Must be able to use manual dexterity in relation to clinical requirements.Must be able to lift 50lbs.There's a job and then there's purposeful, transformative work.
