Job Description:

Molding Solutions is seeking a highly skilled, experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our growing organization. We are a customer focused organization that provides high quality, high value products and services on time through a commitment to continuous improvement and compliance to our quality system. - - Core Responsibilities: -

  • Development of embedded systems, power electronics, and control systems.
  • 8051, ARM, and AVR microcontroller programming and hardware design including communications, Real-time Operating Systems (RTOS), Thyristor control of AC power, sensor measurement of temperature, amperage, voltage etc., digital signal processing, feedback control algorithms, and tuning algorithms.
  • Software languages: Visual Basic, C, Assembly
  • PCB design and layout.
  • Create part specifications, identify and qualify suppliers, and vendors. -
  • UL 508, and 873 knowledge desirable.
  • Hands-on experience with electronics troubleshooting tools, test equipment, etc., e.g. oscilloscopes, DMM's and the like. Development of calibration and functional test fixtures
  • Key role in the development of closed-loop and open-loop motion control algorithms
  • Effectively create and maintain applicable product designs and project documentation.
  • Develop, build, and implement manufacturing and production testing procedures and fixtures.
  • Carryout product support activities including product revision, field troubleshooting, and vendor issue resolution.
  • SW applications experience: MS Office, iGrafx Designer graphics, PADS schematic and PCB design, basic SolidWorks skills, various software development environments.
  • Train sales, assemblers, and service engineers on product operations. Qualifications: -
    • 5+ years in hardware and controls systems development
    • RS232/485, USB, IEEE-488/GPIB, TCP/UDP.
    • Standards Knowledge and Testing experience including Canadian Electrical safety, IEC-61010 safety standards, EMC directives: 6100 series , RoHS, WEEE, and REACH.
    • Data and event driven systems.
    • Knowledge of closed loop control PID algorithms.
    • Basic skill level in electronics fabrication techniques including soldering, crimping.
    • Domestic and international travel up to 25% Education Requirements:
      • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or comparable technical training
