The position will support a US Air Force program that is playing a
major role in the safety oversight of commercial air carriers
currently engaged in doing business with the DoD. The Air Carrier
Analysis System (ACAS) is a web-based application that enables this
collection and analysis of the commercial air carrier oversight
data. GDIT will develop and deliver a modernized ACAS application
that provides an integrated operational analysis capability for
safety analysis of accidents and incidents, operations,
maintenance, financial analysis, and service quality information
for both domestic and foreign commercial air carrier supporting DoD
and makes them available to programmatic stakeholders throughout
the program's lifecycle.
ACAS is essential to providing an integrated operational analysis

supporting DOD.
As a **Senior** **S** **crum Master** , you will be a team-level
change agent who facilitates and coaches Agile practices in a
diverse and technically complex software development project within
our Air Force Business Area portfolio. A practical understanding of
Agile principles, frameworks, tools, and concepts will be key in
successfully performing in this role. In this role, typical
responsibilities will include:
+ Lead and motivate a scrum team in all aspects of the committed
work (analysis, development, testing, documentation, etc.).
+ Acts as a servant leader and aids with the resolution of blocking
impediments.
+ Facilitate Scrum ceremonies, such as planning, reviewing,
retrospectives and daily stand-ups.
+ Mentor team members in Agile values, principles, and
practices.
+ Assisting program in adopting lean/agile/DevSecOps practices from
waterfall practices.
+ Enable team to become self-organizing and self-managing to
achieve its goals
+ Identify, address, and communicate project risks, dependencies,
and team impediments.
+ Utilize tools, such as JIRA and Confluence, to facilitate Agile
ceremonies, including: iteration planning, backlog grooming, daily
stand ups, sprint retrospectives, and status reporting.
+ Utilize tools and reports, such as JIRA and Confluence, to
collect, develop and analyze Agile data and metrics.
+ Identify differences in understanding issues as they occur; work
with the team to problem-solve or escalate to management if
needed.
+ Utilize data from retrospectives and other Agile metrics to coach
and to recommend continuous improvements.
+ Ensure the team's "definition of done" is well defined on the
story, sprint, and release levels.
+ Facilitate productivity through discussion, decision making, and
conflict resolution.
+ Assist with internal and external communication and improving
transparency.
+ Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be
raised with an emphasis on problem solving.
+ Assess the Scrum maturity of the team and coach the team to
higher levels of maturity at a pace that is sustainable and
comfortable for the team.
+ Motivate teams to perform and ensure team members are
collectively responsible for all aspects of the committed work
(analysis, development, testing, documentation, etc.).
+ Coach a continuous improvement mindset and recommend adjustments
to established delivery practices.
+ Maintain JIRA and other information radiators for the teams.
+ Utilizes technical knowledge to recommend metrics, tools, and/or
techniques for enhanced transparency and operational
efficiency.
+ Participate in customer and stakeholder meetings to ensure
cross-team collaboration and coordination of release plans and
integration of testing and release activities.
+ Establish and maintain strong working relationships with all
stakeholders, including customers.
+ Assist in preparing weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc reports and
deliverables.
+ Participate in special projects, external audits and process
improvements in support of quality assurance initiatives.
+ Act as a liaison between the scrum team and the Product Owner and
stakeholders to break down the product roadmap Epics into Features
and user stories and help to define acceptance criteria to enable
the development and testing.
**WHAT YOU'LL NEED:**
+ Bachelor's degree in business, computer science or related field
or equivalent experience
+ Agile certification such as SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), Certified
Scrum Master (CSM), Advanced Certified Scrum Master (A-CSM), or
Professional Scrum Master (PSM)
+ 4+ years of experience supporting IT projects
+ 4+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or member of a software
development team
+ Experience with support tools, such as JIRA, Confluence,
Microsoft Office tools, collaborative communication tools
+ Demonstrated working knowledge of Agile roles, practices, and
deliverables
+ Experience in delivering technical training and Agile
coaching/mentoring
**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:**
+ US citizen Current or prior US Federal Security Clearance; no
conditions that would hinder obtaining/renewing Clearance
+ Experience on Scrum teams in a variety of different contexts
(different team sizes, different organizations, different cultures,
co-located vs. distributed, etc.)
+ Familiar with a variety of Agile approaches (Scrum, Kanban,
SAFe)
