Responsible for assisting the Controller in the accounting and
financial reporting performed by the Finance department and
participating in ad-hoc projects undertaken by the department.
Responsible for the management and supervision of four or more
members of the accounting staff and ensuring the regulatory
compliance of own duties as well as those performed by supervised
employees through the implementation of procedures, supervision and

Participate in the preparation and review of the Bank’s
quarterly Call Report for filing with the FDIC and FR-Y filings for
the Federal Reserve. Assist in maintaining, enhancing and
processing internal financial reporting for management and the
Board of Directors. Assist with other aspects of the Bank’s
financial reporting responsibilities, including with the Securities
and Exchange Commission and Massachusetts Deposit Insurance
Oversee the Bank’s cash management processes, including the
reconciliation of internal and due from bank accounts. Also ensure
the processing of information and cash reporting from the branches
to the general ledger is done accurately and in accordance with the
Bank’s policies and procedures.
Oversee the processing of accounts payable and the Finance
department’s portion of facilities administration, including cost
allocation provisions, the maintenance of purchase and lease
documentation, tracking net book value in the fixed assets system,
ensuring timely payment of all associated taxes and fees and all
other responsibilities related to accounting for fixed assets. Also
review the monthly processing of fixed assets and ensure
appropriate accounting treatment for each asset.
Assist Controller in serving as principal contacts to internal,
external, and regulatory auditors, etc. for coordination of
services and informational resources.
Oversee the monthly processing of prepaid and accrued expenses,
ensuring accurate recognition of expenses over appropriate
Manage the Bank’s wire transfer function including domestic and
foreign transfers for our retail customers, as well as activities
related to the Bank’s operations.
Assist Controller in various projects undertaken by the Finance
Department – including purchase accounting application, compliance
administration, efficiency analysis and profitability studies.
Prepare reconciliations of various general ledger accounts.
Provide back-up assistance to the accounting staff. Assume the
authority of the Controller in her/his absence under the direction
of the CFO.
H.S. Diploma or equivalent
Bachelor's Degree: Preferably with accounting concentration
7+ years: Directly related experience in accounting
3+ years: Specialized training or experience in financial
reporting, bank operations, budgeting, or auditing
3+ years: Supervisory management leadership
Ability to communicate professionally and effectively in person,
on the phone, electronically, or through other means to individuals
and groups required.
Multilingual capabilities and/or multicultural perspective
Financial software required.
Microsoft Office Products (Intermediate) required.
Industry specific software applications and information systems
Supervisory skills, including performance management, staffing,
and delegation required.
