HopeHealth! We are seeking a Palliative Care Physician ( FT) - to
join the established Supportive Care team at the Brown University
Health Cancer Institute (BUHCI) and Rhode Island Hospital. The team
includes 4 full time palliative care physicians, 2 part-time
palliative care physicians, 1 full time palliative care nurse
practioner and a nurse navigator. Providers see patients with
oncologic and hematologic malignancies and benign hematologic
conditions in the inpatient and outpatient setting. Position for
50% inpatient at Rhode Island Hospital, a large academic tertiary
care hospital, and 50% outpatient in the embedded supportive care
clinic at the BUHCI. Frequent opportunities for teaching of
palliative care fellows, residents and medical students. Mature
team with interdisciplinary supports. Clinician/Educator academic
appointment at Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Must be
Board Certified or Board eligible in HPM, fellowship trained
preferred. HopeHealth is a regional not-for-profit provider of
hospice and palliative care in Rhode Island and southeastern
Massachusetts. HopeHealth is the Major Teaching Affiliate of the
Warren Alpert Medical School at Brown University for hospice and
palliative medicine. HopeHealth has strong partnerships with local
academic and community hospitals to provide inpatient palliative
care consultation Palliative care teams provide inpatient care at
academic medical centers, community hospitals, long term care
facilities, and patient’s homes. Palliative census approx. 550
Pediatric palliative and hospice care Embedded ED/HPM MDs in 2
Emergency Departments Over 50 employed MDs and RNPs practicing
solely HPM Second oldest hospice in USA, current census 750s Seven
home and long-term care hospice teams Free-standing 30 bed hospice
inpatient unit, the Hulitar Hospice Center, in Providence RI
Fellowship training program with 3 fellow slots yearly $2.5k
stipend and 5 days available for CME for FT positions Competitive

Appointment at Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University,

opportunities On Call Responsibilities On call duties 1
weeknight/month, and one weekend every 6-8 weeks One holiday
required yearly Compensation for call paid in addition to baseline
salary Weeknight on-call involves covering calls for hospice
admissions to teams and inpatient hospice unit. Weekends/holidays
on call 2 MDs make rounds on 15 beds each in inpatient hospice unit
1 MD covers phone calls for 700 community hospice patients and
rarely a palliative patient/consult team question or issue What are
