x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 3/2/2026 About
the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing
Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night or
Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of
experience required. License: Required state license or compact
license. Certifications: BLS, NRP required. ACLS, AWHONN Advanced,
and AWHONN Intermediate preferred. Must-Have: Epic experience
required. Description: Minimum of 2 years experience in Labor and
Delivery is required. Travelers with less than 2 years experience
will not be considered. Local candidates may be accepted with a
rate adjustment. Staffing ratios are 1:1 or 1:2 for labor and 1:3
for couplets. This position requires 12-hour shifts, days or
nights. No call requirement is needed. Floating may occur, but only
to units within the same division. Every other weekend is required.
The unit supports a variety of patient care needs for mothers and
newborns during antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods.
The Birth Place features inpatient operating rooms for C-sections
and other gynecological procedures. Candidates should possess
skills in high-risk labor and delivery, newborn assessment, and
maternal care. Equipment used includes Pyxis, Epic, and SBAR
systems. The unit follows AWHONN guidelines for staffing. Team
collaboration and a helping hands approach are essential. Nurses
may assist in areas such as ICU and ED as needed, depending on the
clinical assignment. The nursing care provided includes but is not
limited to monitoring fetal heart rates, assisting in labor, and
managing postpartum care. Professional development is supported
with competency-based orientation programs for the maternal/newborn
patient population. Additional support teams include IV teams,
respiratory services, and social services as part of
