Saint Joseph Hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate
Palliative Care Physician to join our esteemed team. Our hospital

environment for medical professionals.Position Overview: The
Palliative Care Physician will play a crucial role in delivering
high-quality, patient-focused care to individuals with serious,
life-limiting illnesses. The ideal candidate will possess a strong
commitment to providing compassionate, comprehensive palliative
care, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to
address the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients
and their families.Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert palliative care consultations and follow-up care
to patients in various settings, including inpatient and
outpatient.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including
physicians, nurses, social workers, and chaplains, to develop and
implement individualized care plans.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical
history, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations.
- Manage complex symptoms, including pain, nausea, and
respiratory distress, to improve the quality of life for
patients.
- Facilitate discussions with patients and families regarding
prognosis, goals of care, and advance care planning.
- Educate and support healthcare providers, patients, and
families about palliative care principles and practices.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, research, and
educational activities to advance the field of palliative
care.Qualifications:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical
school.
- Board certification or eligibility in Hospice and Palliative
Medicine.
- Valid state medical license.
- Demonstrated expertise in palliative care, pain management, and
symptom control.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability
to build rapport with patients, families, and healthcare team
members.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and staying
