Medical Assistants work in collaboration with the physician(s), or other health care provider(s), other ambulatory support staff within the department, and with other disciplines, to deliver patient care.Job Description:Monday-ThursdayHours: 7:00-5:30Lahey Hospital and Medical Center is now offering up to a $1,500 in signing bonuses for our Medical Assistant positions. - - -Important Details: ---- Signing Bonuses are paid out in three payments. You will receive your first payment (one third of the total amount) upon completion of the first 30 days of employment. You will receive the second payment upon completion of six (6) months and the third payment (final of the total amount) owe upon completion of one year following your start date. The bonus payments will be paid on the next regular pay day following the date on which you become eligible for the bonus. All payments are subject to applicable taxes. - -To be eligible: ---- Signing Bonus is determined on a full-time status of 40 hours. Hours less than 40 hours will be prorated. Per Diem roles are not eligible. - ---- Current and former BILH candidates - restrictions apply. Employees within the BILH system are not eligible for the bonus or if you have been employed by a BILH entity within the last 12-months. ---- If you leave Lahey Hospital & Medical Center before your first anniversary you will pay back the signing bonus. ---- Please note, signing bonuses are subject to change based on the organizations hiring needs and will be determined by Talent Acquisition on an ongoing basis. BILH/LHMC Talent Acquisition reserves the right to change signing bonus eligible jobs and amounts at any time. - -Essential Duties & Responsibilities: including but not limited to: - -I. - - -Clinical Considerations and Decision Making: Ways in which MA's come to understand the problems, issues or concerns of patients/families, to attend to relevant/critical information and to respond in concerned and involved ways. -A. - - -Accountable for providing safe patient care by demonstrating organizational skills that maintain and coordinate safe delivery of quality care for assigned patients/families. -B. - - -Participates in a culturally competent plan of care that identifies patient problems, expected outcomes, and addresses preventative measures. -C. - - - Delivers care that is specific to the age of the patient. -D. - - -Cares for patients as delegated by the provider, RN or LPN -E. - - -Contributes information provided by the patient or family for the assessment of health status. -F. - - -Evaluates outcomes of interventions within their scope and follows directions on a modified plan of care. -G. - - -Provides patient care by: -a. - - -Providing necessary physical care to appropriate patient populations. -b. - - -Utilizing and transporting equipment -c. - - -Administering treatments as ordered by the provider. -d. - - -Assisting with examinations and procedures - -II. Collaborative Relationship: Collaborates, cooperates, and communicates with other health care personnel to ensure quality and continuity of care. - -Establishes collaborative relationships with nurses, physicians, other colleagues, patients and families. -Participates in and supports the educational plan for patient and family. -Supports Lahey Hospital and Medical Center's commitment to community-based activities both within the Lahey community and beyond. - -III. High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required. Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program. - -Licensure, Certification, Registration: -None - -Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: -Strong interpersonal and customer service skills required to communicate with patients, family members, physicians and other health care providers, as well as other colleagues. -Knowledge of medical terminology. -Must possess strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills to ensure patient's needs are met. -Must possess basic computer skills to input and retrieve clinical information, as well as patient registration and appointment information. -Utilizes critical thinking and good judgement in performance of tasks. -Must possess good organizational skills and the ability to multitask and to prioritize daily assignments to ensure smooth workflow. - - -As a health care organization, we have a responsibility to do everything in our power to care for and protect our patients, our colleagues and our communities.
