Vice President Commercial LendingThe Cooperative Bank has a full-time opportunity for a Vice President Commercial Lending officer at our corporate headquarters in the heart of Roslindale Village. This role reports directly to the EVP, Chief Lending Officer. The VP Commercial Lending officer role is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and managing lending opportunities within the commercial sector. This role involves working closely with commercial clients to understand their financial needs, offering appropriate lending products, and ensuring a high standard of customer service while managing risk and compliance with lending policies. This role requires both commercial real estate and business lending experience, as they will be called on to generate both types of loans. For CRE transactions, the lender would is responsible for originating, structuring and managing commercial real estate loans for various property types, including 1-4 investment properties, condo developments for sale, construction loans, retail product, light industrial and multi-family type. This role involves working closely with clients, real estate investors, brokers, and developers to structure and close financing deals. For C&I transactions, the lender will be responsible for evaluating, approving, and managing loans for businesses. Identifying structures that best suit the Borrower, while providing sound credit tools to ensure the credit risk for the Bank is prudent. This will require a strong framework of finance/accounting and knowledge of credit enhancement tools, such as the SBA. The lender will also ensure that they adhere to all State and Federal compliance, regulations as and regulatory guidelines, in addition to The Cooperative Bank's policies. Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).10 plus years of experience in business and commercial real estate lending.Strong knowledge of lending products, credit analysis, and financial statements.Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, prospects, and internal teams.Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards in commercial lending.Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications:Thorough knowledge of the Boston and Greater Boston marketplace.Established base of customers and referral sources to generate business.Experience with loan underwriting software and CRM systems. COCC mainframe and LoanVantage commercial platform.Advanced knowledge of industry trends and competitive market analysis.
