Responsibilities: Borrower discussions/negotiation regarding requested loan, terms and comparison to concentration limits and policy to ensure compliance. May include negotiations regarding environmental, attorney closing dates, commitment letter, appraisals, and any changes to loans. Initial requests from borrowers for the various financial statements, application, and appraisal check Borrower assistance with completing PFS---s and rent rolls, as needed Collection of all financial information, may require assistance and multiple follow-ups Negotiate rate with Borrower & CEO Initial loan review to ensure compliance with policy, with DSCR, estimated LTV, and guarantor metrics Pull credit reports for individuals Initial UCC search/Registry of Deeds search Collaborates with branches and residential department to take in new loans Review and address delinquency reports on an ongoing basis Coordinate with borrowers regarding requested modifications for submission to credit Ongoing customer contact and meetings Performs site visits and customer tours, for all collateral in the portfolio and for all new loan requests Update/track/maintain site visit log Perform annual reviews for loan relationships Loan modifications on an ongoing basis, including collateral swap, COVID deferrals, rate modifications, etc. Initiate periodic and ongoing financial statement requests, assist with the ongoing effort to collect financials via phone call follow-up Backup for Credit Officer and Operations Manager during vacation, other time off, employee transitions Filtering various branch and servicing requests from borrowers, including dropped payments in the night deposit box, bill errors, teller lines, residential mortgage questions, etc. Assists Credit Officer with any specific tasks, as requested The ideal candidate will: Possess 2 years of direct experience in commercial loan underwriting, analysis & credit risk assessment within a regulated banking environment Have a bachelor---s degree and a solid understanding of accounting and banking/CU regulation Be resourceful, able to work independently and think creatively to accomplish objectives within the context of a community-centric Credit Union. Wear many hats, appreciate the value of cross-training & working with third parties to efficiently meet goals & promote a sound credit culture A practical understanding of NCUA regulation/guidance with respect to commercial lending The ability to effectively interface with existing & prospective borrowers, fulfilling credit analysis/administration duties & protecting the interests of the Credit Union Excellent written/verbal communication skills Be interested in leading/training colleagues while building a more formal commercial lending/credit function. Management experience not required though the ability to grow into a leadership role is. Physical Demands/Conditions Requirements: General Office Environment.
