Job Description:
CHEP, a global leader in pallet and container supply chain
solutions, seeks an Automation Technician to join our Engineering &
Maintenance team. This role focuses on maintaining and optimizing
automation processes crucial for our operations. The successful
candidate will handle daily technical issues, ensure equipment
reliability, and improve process capabilities to enhance workflow
efficiency and boost CHEP’s commitment to sustainable logistics
solutions. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on automation
systems and components. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and
programming issues swiftly to minimize down time. Regularly inspect
equipment and systems to ensure functionality and safety.
Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance system designs and
implementations. Update and maintain documentation pertaining to
system modifications and upgrades. Provide technical support and
training to other maintenance team members. Monitor the performance
of automation equipment and propose improvement strategies.
In-depth understanding of automated systems including PLCs,
sensors, and actuaries. Excellent problem-solving skills in
electrical and mechanical systems. Proficient in reading and
interpreting technical documentation and schematics. Strong
communication and collaboration abilities. Ability to manage time
efficiently and work under pressure. 401k Life Insurance Vision
Insurance Certified Automation Professional (CAP) preferred.
Relevant PLC programming certifications.
