of both worlds to get our work done.About the RoleAs a Staff Data
Analytics Engineer on our Core Engineering Data Team, you will play
a key role in shaping our data landscape for critical Product and
Engineering domains. You will take ownership of the design,
development, and curation of domain-specific data marts, ensuring
their quality and fitness for purpose. Your expertise will be
instrumental in empowering data-driven decisions across the
organization. If you are a passionate data advocate with a strong

you.Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and documentation of curated data
marts for Product and Engineering domains leveraging centralized
data platform
- Partner closely with producers of data across Simplisafe to
develop understanding of data creation and meaning
- Collaborate with data analysts, engineers, product managers,
and stakeholders to translate needs into data requirements and
ensure data is fit for purpose
- Partner with Product and Engineering teams to develop KPIs for
tracking ML performance and impact
- Identify areas for improvement and collaborate with Data
Engineering to contribute to centralized data engineering
infrastructure
- Establish and enforce data quality and management standards for
curated data marts, evaluating and maintaining quality on an
ongoing basis
- Maintain data pipelines and analytics for Product and
Engineering
- Champion data discovery, catalog, and analytics tooling
- Advocate for best practices in analytics engineering, data
stewardship, and quality within Engineering
- Play a key role in the formation of our new team, contributing
to the developing team norms, practices, and charterQualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering,
Mathematics, or related field or equivalent practical
experience
- 8+ years of experience in data science or analytics, data
engineering, or a related field, (3+ years building data sets from
device data or similar high-volume, high-velocity sources)
- 5+ years working with data analytics and BI tools
- 5+ years of experience with SQL for advanced data analysis and
transformation
- 3+ years experience in Python for data manipulation
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement organized and
scalable data solutions in complex and evolving data
environments.
- Strong understanding of data quality frameworks and data
governance practices
- Solid understanding of product and engineering development
cycles
- Love of data and passion for data qualityNice to Have
- Experience with Dagster, Airflow, or other data orchestration
tools
- Experience with query engines such as Athena and AWS
infrastructure
- Experience with data quality, catalog, and discovery toolsWhat
