Job Description:Job Overview: To ensure that accounting functions are completed in a timely manner and according to established policies.Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Ensure that all accounts are in balance.
  • Handle accounts payable. Includes tracking system for receipt, approval, prompt transmission on appropriate summary forms. Research past due invoices. Maintain accurate records for transmittals and vendor files.
  • Compile information for corporate audit packs.
  • Verify phone revenue and pay tv revenue.
  • Post city ledger payments.
  • Prepare change orders.
  • Prepare daily deposits and count the safe daily.
  • Verify contents of safe with GM.
  • Post charge and banquet tips.
  • Maintain file of tax exemption certificates.
  • Maintain over/short log for each shift each day.
  • Report Food and Beverage receipts.
  • Assist with Profit and Loss Program.
  • Ensure proper End of Month reporting.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.Required Experience:Specific Job Knowledge and SkillsThe individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
    • Basic knowledge of bookkeeping filing systems.
    • Basic mathematical skill and ability to operate a 10 key by touch.
    • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
    • Ability to perform repetitious work.
    • Ability to meet deadlines.Other Expectations:
      • Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.
      • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. This includes nights, weekends and/or holidays.
      • All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available).
      • Employee is always required to take on the responsibility and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as determined by position and duties.
      • Complies with health and safety rules, regulations and procedures to maintain a safe environment.Qualifications:
        • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
        • One year of accounting experience preferably in a hotel.
        • All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available).
