Job Description:

Position: Principal Software Engineer - Healthcare (Burlington, MA)

** Position reports to Burlington, MA office location. Any qualified U.S.

worker will be permitted to work out of a Home Office.

Duties: Perform technical analysis of business cases. Facilitate design and

code reviews. Perform scale and performance analysis. Design and develop

web-based applications using .NET technologies including C# and ASP.NET

MVC. Integrate and translate business requirements into conceptual,

logical, and physical data models and web interfaces. Apply Agile and Lean

software development methodologies to optimize and support the client web

environment. Architect and implement new web-based products and features

for Nuance’s Healthcare Solutions group using object-oriented design

principles, database development models, Service Oriented Architecture

(SOA) patterns, and scalable web architectures. Interact directly with

customers to gather requirements and debug critical issues. Develop and

maintain data tier and web service layers of the applications. Conduct new

technology research and create concept specifications to improve product

components. Provide technical guidance and expertise for all stages of the

software development process including application architecture,

requirements gathering, database design, .NET application development, and

product deployment. Lead development of the Web Portal components.

Participate in development of additional components including RAS and

Bridge. Mentor and manage Software Engineers and Developers. Participate in

design and development of next generation Cloud based speech reporting

system. Identify, prioritize, and describe tasks to junior developers and

engineers.

Requirements: Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer

Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field

and three (3) years of experience designing, developing, implementing, and

testing server-side web-based enterprise applications using ASP.NET and C#;

or in the alternative, a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in

Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or a related

field and five (5) years of experience as indicated above.

Also requires demonstrated expertise (DE): creating user interactive

websites leveraging .NET Framework, ASP.NET, C#, Ajax Control Toolkit,

JavaScript, LLBLGen, LINQ to SQL, Entity Framework, and SQL Server; DE

upgrading web applications to format with CSS3, JSON, JQuery, and HTML5; DE

performing Web Services management with WCF, RESTful API, and NuGet

Package; and DE designing and developing web applications in an Agile and

Scrum environment.
