Title: Administrative Support ClerkReports to: Administrative Services LeadLocation onsite/hybrid: Onsite at Sports Medicine NorthHours: Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pmWho we are:Spire Orthopedic Partners is a growing national partnership of orthopedic practices that provides the support, capital and operational resources physicians need to grow thriving practices for the future. As a Management Services Organization (MSO), Spire provides the infrastructure for administrative operations that allows practices to operate at their highest level, so doctors can focus their efforts on what matters most patient care. The Spire network spans the Northeast with more than 1,300 employees, 130 physicians, and 28 locations in Connecticut, New York, and Massachusetts.PURPOSE: Handles patient transport from waiting area to designated locations for treatment (i.e. x-ray/Exam Room). Incumbent interacts frequently with patients, physicians and staff.ACCOUNTABILITIES: (include but are not limited to)Inform patients of delays or other situations that may result in a longer than normal wait.Guiding patients to their designated treatment location from the waiting area.Describe policies and procedures to new and established patients.Prepare and clean exam rooms for patients, discarding contaminated gowns and drapes appropriately.Keep the reception/waiting area clean at all timesStocking and organizing of patient forms in POD and exam roomsResponsible for notifying Management of full sharps containersBack up filing of patient charts and indexing.Assist with copying of forms and compiling of patient education bookletsAttend and participate in staff and front desk meetingsAny duties or projects as assigned by supervisor, particularly during downtimeEDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or GED requiredEXPERIENCE: Entry level. 1 year previous experience in a medical office or clinic setting preferred.KNOWLEDGE:HIPAA and other regulatory policiesInsurance regulations, policies and proceduresPrevious experience with office equipment including copiers, fax machines and computersMedical office procedures, policies, practices and medical terminology, telephone protocol and professional etiquetteElectronic medical systems, including Athena/Centricity, ReDoc and the like.Common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe working environmentSKILLS:Strong communication skills, verbal and writtenExtensive customer service experienceProven ability to multi-taskComputer skills, being proficient with Windows based softwareStrong problem solving skills and ability to think quickly, professional and efficientlyAbility to represent our organization in a professional mannerMust be a team player with a positive attitudeUse of sympathy, tact and understanding in dealing with patients, physicians, and coworkersWe are an equal-opportunity employer.
